Florida Couple Had "Marital Problems"

"CORAL GABLES, FL - A man apparently killed his wife at a Coral Gables office building Tuesday before taking his own life, police said.

"Police identified the dead as Mercedes Rodriguez, 49, and Jesus Rodriguez, 51.

"They were living at different addresses and were apparently `having marital problems,` said Detective Aida Fina-Milian, a Miami-Dade police spokeswoman.

"About 1:15 a.m., Coral Gables police were called to an apparent suicide at an office building at 2701 Le Jeune Rd. Police found the body of Jesus Rodriguez. Miami-Dade police homicide investigators were called.

"`Our investigation led us to her,` said Fina-Milian. Mercedes Rodriguez's body was found at a building at 555 Biltmore Way. Mercedes Rodriguez worked cleaning office buildings, which could explain why she was there after hours.

"Police did not say how either of them died."
