Seven Hour SWAT Standoff

"MANCHESTER, NH - A Manchester woman was killed and her father was also shot inside her New Hampshire home Thursday afternoon. Police say the woman's husband pulled the trigger, and then held officers at bay for hours before taking his own life.

"The shooting happened around 2 p.m. at 233 Jewett Street, the home of Jonathan and Melissa Charbonneau.

"According to neighbors, the couple was going through a divorce and Mrs. Charbonneau had recently taken a restraining order against her husband. When she came to the home Thursday to collect some belongings, the violence erupted.

"Police say Jonathan Charbonneau shot and killed his wife and also shot her father, who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

"S.W.A.T. teams surrounded the home for nearly seven hours, before storming the house and discovering Charbonneau dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound."
